JaYRroD 4 LoVe was born September 10, 1985 in Morristown, NJ. After brief stints of moving, his family settled down in Northern Virginia where he wrote his first rhyme at age 10 to Bone Thugs-N-Harmony’s E. 1999 Eternal. Since then his influences have ranged from cinematography by Spike Lee and works by Nas, The Notorious BIG, Outkast & many others. His style has been described as the love child of Malcolm X, Erykah Badu, and Kelis would conceive if they had a threesome. JaYRroD’s psychedelic yet soulful rendition of hip-hop, accompanied by his poetic lyrics set him apart the majority.
JaYRroD 4 loVe’s name represents his belief that GOD is love and love is the Supreme Understanding of life.
JaYRroD attended Virginia State University and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Arts after a constant indecisive battle between changing majors and pursuing his musical dreams.
JaYRrod is currently set to release his upcoming mixtape Brunch with Aria Hughes and working on the follow-up EP LouD Vintage and album The Black Fruit Punch. Brunch with Aria Hughes is a concept mixtape inspired by his on again/off again girlfriend which is a metaphor for Music. The ‘Brunch’ providing food for thought.
